Some children need a Reading Buddy to help them on the way to reading success! Children who are not native English speakers, and children who want to boost their reading performance, are encouraged to join our "Reading Buddies Club." At various times throughout the month, children aged 2-12 can come and spend time reading with an adult Reading Buddy volunteer. The children will receive a special incentive prize for attending each Reading Buddies Club meeting, and pizza will be served! Dick and the Roadmasters enter their seventh year with some new faces, a number of new tunes, and a great new sound. Known for their 'smooth blues ride', they will be appearing at the library for an afternoon of blues you can use.

Join the Kenton County Public Library and Ohio Kentucky Indiana Cachers (O.K.I.C.) for an introduction to the growing outdoor hobby of Geocaching. Geocaching is like a treasure hunt combined with the outdoors and hiking! Caches are hidden in various locations and cachers use GPS (Global Positioning Systems) equipment and physical coordinates (latitude and longitude) posted on the World Wide Web to pinpoint caches. Dress for an outdoor walk around the Library grounds, as we will split up with seasoned cachers and find the caches. "Cache In, Trash Out" is the cachers' motto - we'll do a litter cleanup as we go. Wear comfortable shoes.

Some children need a Reading Buddy to help them on the way to reading success! Children who are not native English speakers, and children who want to boost their reading performance, are encouraged to join our "Reading Buddies Club." At various times throughout the month, children aged 2-12 can come and spend time reading with an adult Reading Buddy volunteer. The children will receive a special incentive prize for attending each Reading Buddies Club meeting, and pizza will be served! Join us for a fascinating talk by Professor Jeffrey Williams as he shows how in dwelling upon the extraordinary achievements of "first women," society often loses track of how far out in front of ordinary women these pioneers have forged. Discover how representative first women's experiences are to those of most women in history. Space is limited and registration is required.
