Project Linus is a volunteer non-profit organization whose mission is to provide children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need with gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans lovingly created by volunteer 'blanketeers'. Blankets are collected locally and distributed to children ages 0-18 in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need of a big hug. The William E. Durr Branch accepts donations year round.

No one knows precisely how many people died in Ireland during those years, but in a population of more than 8 million people, the death count reached over 1 million and another 1.5 to 2 million emigrated. By 1891, the population of Ireland was at 4 million. Come and learn about why, what was involved, and what effect this has on today, in this fascinating presentation by Dr. Hebert from Thomas More College. Celebrate St. Partick's Day with traditional Irish music by Cincinnati musical group Dark Moll. In this highly enjoyable concert, you'll experience music firmly rooted in the centuries-old tradition of Irish dance music, but featuring a perfectly unique sound with ballads, lively Irish reels, jigs, slip jigs, hornpipes, polkas and airs. All skill levels are welcome! Games are played with the 2009 National Mah Jongg League cards and rules.
