Project Linus is a volunteer non-profit organization whose mission is to provide children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need with gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans lovingly created by volunteer 'blanketeers'. Blankets are collected locally and distributed to children ages 0-18 in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need of a big hug. The William E. Durr Branch accepts donations year round.

The Faces and Places: NKY Photographic Archives contains more than 60,000 images donated by a multitude of people and organizations. The timespan covered by the images ranges from the mid-1800s through last week. But what sorts of images are there and how can one access them? This program will explore that, enabling people to use the database to its full potential and demonstrating the varied usefulness of the images.

Come in and learn this game that's popular all over the world! Arriving in America in the twenties, Mah Jongg quickly became the newest fad and favorite game to play. All skill levels are welcome! Games are played with the 2010 National Mah Jongg League cards and rules.
Pam Baker will be teaching this class. This class is for beginners who need to learn the different parts of the computer, how to use the mouse and some basic functions of the Windows operating systems. This will be a 4 part class. Each week we will take a look at some different functions of the computer.

Spend the night in the most exciting place on Earth: the Library!!! We'll have movies, pizza, general shenanigans, and FUN! No rest for the weary!! No sleep til Brooklyn!! 8pm to 8am.

During the months of November and December you are invited to help decorate the Mitten Tree at Durr Library with a donation of handmade (or new) scarves, hats, mittens or gloves.
Donations can be made at the Durr Library adult reference desk at any time.
Items will be donated to Welcome House and Scarf It Up! of Northern Kentucky. Welcome House collaborates with the community to provide a continuum of quality services for individuals and families in order to eradicate homelessness, foster stability and promote a just society. Scarf It Up! gathers and distributes handmade scarves to inner city youth, homeless, the elderly and others in need.
