The Word Processors

Star Wars Star Gazing

Join us for an 8 week songwriting workshop sponsored by the Carnegie! We will begin by finding the perfect title, then creating lyrics and the structure of the song. Writing melodies and chord progressions requires basic skills on keyboard or guitar, to recognize chord names and play them. In general, songwriters aren't great musicians. They know chords, they know song craft, and they know how to follow their emotions. That's what you'll need to craft your song. Registration is recommended. Participants are encouraged to attend all of the 8 sessions to get the most out of the workshop, but full attendance is not required.

We will be working together with a local artist to create an art installation! Come anytime 6-8pm. from Wikipedia: Installation art describes an artistic genre of three-dimensional works that are often site-specific and designed to transform the perception of a space. Installation art can be either temporary or permanent. Installation artworks have been constructed in exhibition spaces such as museums and galleries, as well as public and private spaces. The genre incorporates a broad range of everyday and natural materials, which are often chosen for their "evocative" qualities, as well as new media such as video, sound, performance, immersive virtual reality and the internet. Many installations are site-specific in that they are designed to exist only in the space for which they were created.
