The Library of Things have some very popular items. If you are looking to try to time when you get your item, say if you are going on vacation or having a party and need it for that, you can go into your library account and suspend your hold. Did you know that you can suspend a hold so you can get the item ? When you suspend your hold, you allow others to check the item out ahead of you, while you keep your spot in the hold queue.  When you’re ready to check the item out, you can activate your hold, and your spot in line becomes active again.  You may be at the top of the list for that cool “Library of Things” item. Make sure you do this if you are aiming for a specific time though because once your item is on it’s way to it’s pickup location it can’t be suspended.

So, the Library has you covered whether you want to focus on science-related activities (telescope, binoculars, microscopes), yard game fun (bocce, croquet, ring toss), hobbies (camera, sewing machine, loom knitting kit) or other interests, the check out the Library’s offerings first before renting or buying.

And remember, the Library also works with the Center for Great Neighborhoods and Wolf Tree Farms to provide you with tools and items you can borrow to use around your house. Check out the Empower Tools website for more information.
