If you find yourself with some free time like many others, then this simple tortilla recipe is the perfect solution! The recipe calls for five ingredients most of which you probably already have. You will need:

4 cups of all purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons baking powder

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 1/2 cups of hot water

Step 1: Combine flour, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl. Once combined, add oil and mix using clean hands.

Step 2: Slowly incorporate warm/hot water into dry mixture while kneading, until dough starts to form.

Step 3: Pinch off golf ball sizes of dough and place onto a clean, flat, floured surface. Use a rolling pin to flatten your dough, turning the tortilla every so often to keep it circular.

Step 4: Heat a large pan to medium heat and then place tortilla flat to cook. Once your tortilla starts to bubble, flip and continue cooking. Once both sides have cooked, place into a plastic bag or container until use.

Your finished product will not be perfect, but that is okay! Although this recipe is a great starting place, it is not an exact science. Your tortillas may not be perfectly round or evenly colored, but that comes with practice. Now is the perfect time to learn a new skill to up your cooking game.
