Now more than ever, the Kenton County Public Library is focused on supporting students, teachers, and parents with the resources they need to be successful in school. As the new School Services Coordinator for the Kenton County Public Library, I am excited to start this journey with you! Let me begin by sharing some of the learning resources that are currently available at KCPL.
We have a webpage for Educators and Parents that contains helpful links and information, including a link for Teachables, a collection of ready-to-go lessons and activities for PreK through 8th grade.
Our Research & Learning webpage contains many amazing databases for children and teens! Access the Research & Learning page.
Access to our databases from a home computer will require a library card. If you need a library card, you can go to any of our 3 branches (Covington, Erlanger, or Durr in Independence) or you can apply online.
We broadcast programs for all ages regularly throughout the week over our Library’s Facebook page.
We are also doing Zoom programming for children and tweens. Our Zoom programs are listed in our Library’s event calendar.
Our teens are invited to join our KCPL Discord Server.
We are working on providing even more resources and services! A revamped webpage will be available soon, to simplify your search for information. And I’m excited to announce that we are in the process of acquiring an online tutoring and homework help resource! We are also working on creating a variety of video content that will promote literacy, share books and stories, demonstrate science experiments, and provide opportunities to relax and recharge with yoga, mindfulness, music and movement.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with your questions and problems. Together, we can make this the best school year yet!
