Description: Clyde's Steakhouse, KY 8, sold to highways Bureau for $205,00. 100th property acquired on KY 8
Comment: I am proud to say I grew up there. My Grandfather and grandmother, Clyde and Jerdie Calloway started the place in a shack. Later my mother, Elaine Calloway Goodhew took over and bought the place. She made it what it was. Elaine had a 8th grade education. The place was known for its hot slaw and family style service. Unfortunately after Markland Dam was put in the river level changed and the hillside there was made of shale and started slipping.

Description: Rev. Leo H. Egbring, St. James Church, observes 50th Anniversary as priest
Comment: Very kind man. He smoked a cigar, did his own yard work at the rectory and sometimes joked about the irony of being a German Pastor of St. James Church, established by the Irish. Loved to visit his office in the front of the the rectory when my mother, Virginia Lannigan would send me to purchase a Mass card. He was good with children and once a week came to hear us answer his questions about Catholicism in Sister Francis, 7th and 8th combined class. I liked his gentle manner and his smile. ❤️
