Description: John Vissman and friends
Comment: This photo is of me in costume as the Chauffeur in the play The Royal Family, by George S. Kaufman & Edna Ferber, at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park during the Playhouse's eighteenth season 1977-78. I was the Assistant Property Master at the Playhouse that season and the director of the show cast me as the Chauffeur even though I was not an actor. I had one line I gotcha. The Cincinnati Post did an article about all the animals in the show and this photo accompanied the article.

Comment: Looking at the old streetcar routes and the sign in the background John Scherz I'm guessing this is Freeman Avenue. The Neon Engineering is still in business, and has a similar car on their website.

Description: Unknown covered bridge.
Comment: This is the Jackson Highway Bridge over Beech Fork in Nelson County one mile south of Bardstown. It was built in 1865 or '66 to replace a double barrel covered bridge built by James Carrothers which was burned during the Civil War. The siding was removed and the trusses painted white in 1926. This bridge was bypassed in 1933 and collapsed September 19, 1938.
