STEAMers Exhibition (7/1/2018 -7/31/2018 at the Covington Branch)

Discover what the STEAM campers have been up to in June.  Their projects focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math will be on display in the Children’s Department during the month of July.

Covington Public Schools – Elementary Coding Programs

Coding programs will be available in afterschool programs at all elementary schools in Covington in Fall 2018.

Completed:

Make.Code.Music (8 weeks, February and March 2018 at the Durr Branch)

Kids aged 9-14 used the computer to design music, create instruments and music videos, and learn how technology is used in the music industry.

Ready.Set.Code (8 weeks, April and May 2018 at the Durr Branch)

Kids age 9-14 learned the basics of coding or continued working on a coding project. Languages and programs: Scratch and Code.org. This program was for all skill levels and no previous computer experience was necessary.

STEAM Camp (June 2018 at the Covington Branch)

Focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math the STEAM Camp was for Tweens and Teens looking for a challenging experience.  Participants questioned and explored their world through a variety of scientific and technological lenses.
