Celebrate Children’s Book Week and Screen Free Week

Children’s Book Week is just what it sounds like – a week celebrating children’s books and reading! This twice annual event is the longest running national literacy initiative and 2023 is its 102nd anniversary. The great thing about Children’s Book Week this year is that it coincides with Screen Free Week.  Screen Free Week invites participants to play, explore, and rediscover the joys of life without screens.

So, this May 1-7, put down your phones, turn off the TVs, and step away from your computers for an hour, a day, or the entire week. Try some of these activities that will entertain you without these devices and check out some great books to inspire you to get outside and play.
