Telling A People’s Story: African American Children’s Illustrated Literature

Thanks to a generous grant from the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation in Cleveland, OH, the Miami University Art Museum is pleased to circulate the content of the original, groundbreaking 2018 exhibition, Telling A People's Story: African American Children's Illustrated Literature. The Traveling Panel Exhibition, featuring 12 panels with 120 reproduced illustrations, will be on display at the Covington Branch of the Kenton County Public Library Sept. 10-Oct. 8. The library will kick off the exhibit with a special event on Saturday, September 10. Award-winning author/illustrator Shadra Strickland will present a family-friendly reading and art demonstration at 10:30 a.m. Emerging local artist Tamia A. Saunders will discuss her work through colorful illustration at 1:30 p.m.
