Bringing the Library Beyond Our Walls: Outreach in Action
At the Kenton County Public Library Outreach Branch, our mission goes far beyond our buildings. We believe that access to information, connection, and lifelong learning should meet people where they are, whether that’s in a school, a childcare center, a senior center, or a bustling community event. Outreach is not just something we do; it’s who we are.
Connecting in Our Parks
There’s something special about meeting families and individuals outdoors, where curiosity and play naturally come together. Our outreach team regularly visits local parks to bring storytimes, hands-on activities, and mobile collections directly into the community.
From summer reading programs under shady trees to pop-up library tables at community events, we create welcoming spaces where learning feels fun, accessible, and engaging for all ages.
Supporting Our Senior Community
We are proud to partner with local senior centers to ensure older adults stay connected, informed, and inspired. Through book deliveries, technology assistance, and engaging programs like book discussions and lifelong learning workshops, we bring meaningful opportunities right to their door.
These visits are about more than books; they’re about building relationships, reducing isolation, and fostering a sense of belonging.
Engaging Community Centers & Local Partners
Our outreach efforts thrive because of the strong relationships we’ve built with community centers, nonprofits, and local organizations. By collaborating with these partners, we’re able to tailor programs that meet the unique needs of each group we serve. Whether it provides early literacy programs for families, workforce resources for job seekers, or creative activities for youth, we work together to strengthen our community.
