What is School Services?
The Kenton County Public Library provides dedicated staff, services, and resources to support public and private school students in grades Pre-K through 12, as well as their teachers and school administrators. Below, you will find a summary of our services. To find out more about services and resources for students and teachers, visit kentonlibrary.org/educators.
School services staff can visit classrooms in all public and private schools in Kenton County. We can provide storytimes or other programming on a monthly basis, or by special appointment. Visits to elementary, middle and high school classrooms typically include activities to enhance a curriculum need, such as database training, information literacy skills, and research skills.
School services staff can provide an Educator card for anyone employed in a public or private school in Kenton County, or for anyone who lives in Kenton County and works in a school in a neighboring county. We can also gather a collection of print and A/V materials to support your classroom needs.
Student library cards can be created for entire classrooms, or even entire schools. Student library cards provide access to all of the Library’s electronic resources, as well as the ability to check out up to five print items at any of our physical branches. Student library cards are created by school services staff.
School services staff can serve as a liaison between school staff and Library branch staff to plan a field trip to any of our physical branches.
School services staff can provide monthly enrichment programs at your after-school programs. We can make weekly visits to your summer programs. Summer programs can include books brought onsite for students to check out.
School services staff can attend your Literacy Nights, Back to School events, Trunk-or-Treats, end-of-year celebrations, etc. We can provide information tables, literacy or Library presentations, even books for check-out.
