Work at the Library – Benefits

Library benefits may be different for full/part-time staff members.
Shelvers have a different tier of benefits from full/part-time staff members.

All Staff:

Holidays
All staff observe 8 holidays as well as several holidays where we are open to the public. Part-time staff credited time for open holidays may vary.

Employee Assistance Program
Confidential counseling services provided at no cost.

Tuition Reimbursement
Reimbursement for ½ the tuition (maximum of $550 per class) for 2 classes per calendar year.
Payment for library certification classes.

Part-Time & Full-Time Employees:

Kentucky Retirement System
Employees who work 24 hours or more per week are required to participate in the Kentucky Retirement System.  The employee and the Library contribute a percentage of the gross pay.

Deferred Compensation System
An additional savings plan is available through Kentucky Deferred Compensation (401k, ROTH, IRA, etc.)

Paid Time Off
PTO accrual is based on number of hours worked.

Sick Leave
Sick leave is based on number of hours worked.

Full-Time Staff

The library provides health insurance coverage for each full-time staff member.  Other voluntary benefits are available at employee expense (dental, vision, and life.)

Section 125 Flexible Benefits Plan
Voluntary employee benefit plan that allows employees to convert part of their compensation, along with contributions from the library, into tax-free benefits.

Sick Leave
Sick Leave for full time staff members is a set number of days per year.

Paid Time Off
Paid time off is given to all full-time staff.  The amount varies by position.
