Bromley - Wheeler, George

George “Bud” Wheeler was a member of the Bromley Volunteer Fire Department and was very active in Bromley community affairs. He was born on December 23, 2927 and was married to Marianne Creekmore Wheeler. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was employed by the Kenton and Campbell County Sanitation District No. 2.

Wheeler was very active in firefighting activities. He was chief of the Bromley Fire Department from 1958 to 1969. He served as president of the Northern Kentucky Firemen’s Association in 1961 and vice president of the Kentucky Firemen’s Association in 1963.

Wheeler died on October 26, 1988 at the age of 60. He was survived by his wife. The couple had two children: Connie Wheeler Clayton and David Wheeler. Services were held at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Ludlow. Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger.
