Ever think about what was there before the interstate? Or looking to find a demolished property?
Take a look through the new Kenton County State Highway Development Property Records Collection in both geNKY and Faces and Places.
This collection features the records for acquired properties in Kenton County which were ultimately demolished to make way for various I-71/I-75 and I-275 developments and spans between the 1950s to the 1990s. The records also include partial land takings and comparative sales. Records may include appraisals, blueprints, maps and pictures of the property. Each property is organized and searchable by address or parcel number. The entire collection consists of 5543 scanned pages and 2961 photos. In many cases, these are the only pictures that exist of the former properties.
Featured below are just a few of the stories and snapshot views of life in Kenton County.

Search for houses you remember from your childhood or that of your family. You might find grandma's car parked in front of the house like this photograph of 730 Crescent Avenue.

Here we see a group of children enjoying the cool lake on a hot day, on the property of 4891 Taylor Mill Road.

The property at 4891 Taylor Mill Road was also the location of a log cabin.

There are unique properties like the former baseball park at the corner of Ninth and Arnold Streets.
