One Month Left of Summer Reading Detectives

We're halfway through solving the case, but there's still time for you to join in on the Summer Reading Detectives, opens a new window mission! 🕵

For those who have already picked up a magnifying glass and started turning pages, we thank you for supporting us in this investigation. Continue to keep track of your reading using Beanstack, the reading tracker app, opens a new window, or on your physical log. Stop by your local branch soon to collect any prizes (available while supplies last) and raffle tickets that you've earned so far. Explore all the prize possibilities at kentonlibrary.org/src, opens a new window.

We're also hosting a few more themed events throughout July to keep you in the Summer Reading Detectives spirit. We'd love to see you at:

  • SRC Pickle Autopsies: A Dill-icious Dissection, opens a new windowTuesday, July 7 at Erlanger Branch – A whole jar of briny deaths have occurred in the library and we need the best pickle pathologists on the case. Participants will have to use their forensic skills to slice and dice these pickles and find out how they met their dill-icious demise.
  • Craft Night, opens a new window – Thursday, July 9 at Lakeside Park – Join us for detective-themed crafts and yummy snacks at the Lakeside City building (9 Buttermilk Pike).
  • Taste of Mystery: Cooks and Books, opens a new window – Friday, July 17 at Covington Branch – Get into the Summer Reading spirit with tantalizing tastes and tales. Have you ever read a mystery novel with a tasty sounding dish? Now’s your chance to give it a sample. This event's theme: dumplings, noodles and more.
  • Library Escape Room, opens a new window – Wednesday, July 22 at Covington Branch – Work as a team to escape in 60 minutes or less. Find clues, solve puzzles and break free!
  • True Crime Trivia, opens a new window – Monday, July 27 at Covington Branch – Calling all amateur sleuths and armchair detectives. Come test your knowledge of all things murderous and macabre.

We know that the main parking lot at the Covington Branch often fills up quickly. This is a friendly reminder that you can also park in Midtown Garage across the street (the one with the big green alien 👽) and get your parking validated at the library before you leave!
