Today, August 23, is A Very Laufey Day, and Kenton County Public Library is joining the celebration with something special for Laufey fans and library lovers.
Beginning Sept. 1, KCPL patrons can get a limited-edition Laufey Book Club library card as part of a nationwide collaboration with the American Library Association and Laufey, the 2026 honorary chair of Library Card Sign-up Month.
The Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter, cellist and two-time Grammy winner, who reaches more than 20 million listeners each month on Spotify, is also an avid reader. Laufey founded the Laufey Book Club in 2022, creating a global community for fans who share her love of books.
How to Get a Limited-Edition Laufey Library Card

New patrons can sign up for a KCPL library card and request the Laufey design. Already have a KCPL card? You can get one, too.
The cards are working library cards and cannot be issued solely as collectibles. KCPL has ordered a limited number of cards per branch, and they will be available on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
