On Friday evening, nearly 100 volunteers, Friends of the Library members and Kenton County Public Library Foundation members gathered at Kings Island's Picnic Grove for a simple reason: to celebrate a year of service.
It was an evening of food, fellowship and gratitude for the people who help make Kenton County Public Library stronger every day.

While library staff are often the faces patrons see, volunteers play an important role behind the scenes and in the community. From supporting special events and assisting with programs to organizing Friends of the Library book sales and serving through the KCPL Foundation, their generosity helps create opportunities that benefit readers, families and neighbors throughout Kenton County.
The evening served as a reminder that the library is strengthened by people who are willing to share their time and talents. Whether helping prepare for a children's program, assisting at a community event, supporting a book sale or advocating for the library's future, every volunteer helps extend KCPL's impact.

Make a Difference at Your Library
If you've ever considered volunteering, Kenton County Public Library offers a variety of opportunities to match different interests, skills and schedules.
Volunteers assist with library programs and special events, help staff with projects throughout the branches and support initiatives that enrich the lives of Kenton County residents. The Friends of the Library also welcome volunteers who enjoy working at used book sales, with proceeds helping support library programs and services.
Becoming a KCPL volunteer is simple. Prospective volunteers complete an online application, participate in a brief interview, attend orientation and are matched with opportunities that best fit their interests and the library's needs. Volunteer opportunities are available for teens and adults, with some positions open to individuals as young as 13 years old.
Whether you have a few hours each month or are looking for a regular way to give back, volunteering is a meaningful way to meet new people, develop new skills and help create memorable experiences for your community.
